Mud bath!
On safari in Udawalawe National Park with Udawalawe Ethical Safari.
A wild elephant enjoys a mud bath whilst we look on from an appropriate viewing point.
Our clients joined us for a very special safari and watched this elephant rolling in the mud, conditioning the skin, removing insects and topping up on natures sun cream! Mud bathing is important for wild elephants to protect their skin from the harsh sun, keep cool and feel good.
As you can see our clients had an excellent view without causing the elephant stress, they just continued with their natural behaviours, taking their time to fully enjoy the cool mud.
This is how we conduct safari ethically. We NEVER pursue or feed the animals, treating them with respect and keeping them WILD.
Join us to experience wildlife responsibly. Our dedicated and knowledgeable team will show you the very best Sri Lankan wildlife in their natural habitat. Contact us today to enquire about your safari of a lifetime.
